DON’T FORGET YOUR TITLE AND REGISTRATION
Just like you would when purchasing and driving your vehicle on the road, obtaining and carrying your boat’s title and registration when sailing North Carolina waters is essential and required by law.
DO GET A NORTH CAROLINA BOATING LICENSE
In North Carolina, anyone born on or before January 1, 1988, is required to complete and pass a boater safety education course before getting behind the wheel of a personal watercraft or motorized vessel of 10 horsepower or more.
DON’T OVERLOOK BOAT INSURANCE
While boat insurance is always a good idea, it is required by law in the state of North Carolina. Getting caught without boat insurance will not only get you in legal trouble, but it could get you into some steep financial trouble as well.
