Hurricane Preparation Guide

Hurricane Preparation GuidePlanning for a hurricane is the best possible way to minimize damage. But hurricanes don't always give much advance warning, and planning at the last minute isn't planning at all - it's reacting. Proper planning is the key to success, and, as a responsible boat owner, you should develop a comprehensive hurricane plan.

Hurricanes are known for their unpredictability, so it is impossible to devise a "foolproof" plan. However, you can take some basic measures that my substantially decrease your ship's risk of extensive damage.

Wind will be your primary enemy. Thankfully, there are several things you can do to minimize the wind's devastating effects. How you position your boat and where you position your boat are very important. But most importantly, you don't wait until the last minute.
